To chronicle my sometimes interesting experiences, deep and intriguing thoughts and accomplishments, such as they are. Mostly so I don't feel guilty that I don't keep a journal.
Swimming, canning, devouring books from the library, completing art projects, learning to ride a bike, celebrating birthdays, entertaining visitors, weeding and harvesting gardens, getting my feet wet on Facebook and Twitter, prepping for the Utah trip, getting things ready for school to start in just a month . . . I am afraid there is not much time left for blogging.
I'll be sporadic for the next month or so, but will try to get back to it when school starts.
Have a great summer! See you next fall! Call me! Sorry so sloppy!
I posted about how much we love Avatar the Last Airbender about a year ago. We were so excited a few months ago to hear about a live action movie that is in the making. We were even more thrilled to find out that it is being directed by M. Night Shyamalan. (We are devoted fans.)
The movie is coming out next summer and we can't wait!!
Here is a fun interview and the teaser trailer so you can get excited too.
The surf has been up in Galveston all week so we made arraignments to go today; we shopped, cleaned the house, Paul and Robin arraigned to get work off. As the week progressed however, the forecast projected worse and worse conditions until yesterday it said, "Friday, flat" Booooo!
The surf was up on Thursday and will be up again Sunday and Monday but Friday and Saturday when we can be there . . . nope. This has left us wondering if we have not given proper homage to the surf gods (we can't help but be a little superstitious) in any case, we had to give up.

So instead of going to Galveston, we are going to mow the lawn, weed the garden and finish getting ready for our party tomorrow night. . . did I tell you we are having a party?
A friend of ours is turning 60 this week. Since I just turned 40, his wife and I, and Robin, planned a 100 year old party. It won't be too fancy but we will have a night with good friends and good food and at least 100 balloons.
. . . it would be very much like our 4th of July, it included:
5 adults
7 kids
1 flat of blueberries picked
3 cobblers (2 peach, 1 berry) devoured
24 turkey, ham and salami sandwiches made and eaten
Hours and hours of stories, laughter and unguarded conversation immersed in
3 pounds of cherries enjoyed
1 Twilight reader's theater performed (here's a taste) Scene 5
BELLA: Thanks for saving me from that mob of guys who attacked me in the street! It's a good thing you obsessively stalk me while simultaneously insisting you want nothing to do with me.
EDWARD: No problem. If anyone's going to tear you limb from limb and gorge themselves on your sweet, delicious, life-giving blood, it's going to be me.
BELLA: Aw, you say the nicest things! I'm pretty sure you're a vampire, that I'm in love with you, and that part of you wants to kill me.
EDWARD: Don't be silly. It's not just part of me.
BELLA: LOL!

A big swimming pool with a diving board well used (a must)
$150 worth of the best fireworks as well as about 300 sparklers set off
